Partnership project on full spectrum extractions:

Full spectrum extracts provide various benefits on several levels. On one side making a full spectrum extract means lowering the volume of the plant materials dramatically, while preserving their full spectrum and therefor all possibilities of applying further processing steps. By separating the plant materials from its beneficial compounds  many logistic, handling and shelf time issues are being solved and the medical compounds are being concentrated. On the other side full spectrum extracts provide also different highly valuable  medical benefits such as described by the ‘entourage’ effect.


With Dexso D.M.E it is possible to make a full spectrum extraction, of various plant materials, with a very high grade of purity in a gentle one step process. This is lowering the cost of high quality full spectrum extracts significantly. The extraction of plant based compounds and other compounds to a full spectrum extraction can be one of the possible applications of Dimethyl Ether. These extracts can direct be applied for medical use or as a base product followed by further production steps.

About our collaboration:

So far, there were 1268 different compounds identified in the Cannabis plant, of which almost all are considered to have a potentially high medical value. This is making the Cannabis plant to a highly interesting plant for the research of full spectrum extractions. But extracting such a big number of different compounds is no easy task.


Therefor Dexso started a R&D project with the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources of the Czech University of Life science in Prague. In its collaboration with Dexso the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources is making the research about extracts of various medical and or beneficial plant materials, with a focus on Cannabis and it's medical compounds. All required plant materials are grown, extracted and analyzed by and at the  Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources in the Czech Republic.


The hereby researched information wiil be used by the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources for scientific publications and by Dexso for the development of new products and applications. Furthermore the hereby produced extracts are then used for other projects such as the research of various following processing steps and applications.


About our partner:

The University and Faculty’s history began with the founding of the Agricultural department at the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1906, by decree of the emperor Franz Joseph. The University was established as an independent body by governmental decree on July 8th1952. More recently, the Faculty extended its focus, and in 2005 changed its name to the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources (FAFNR). This change in name characterizes the shift from primarily agricultural education and research to a broader focus comprising newly emerging issues in natural resources management and food quality.


Today, the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources is a modern and respected educational and scientific institution, which accommodates more than 4000 students and 300 employees.
